Changelog

v1.0.0

This is the first public release of Competition Control.

Field Controllers (Beta)

  • Adds support for field controllers, in beta: the VEXnet® Field Controller Kit (275-1401) and OpenFC boards now enable and disable robots as the field timer runs. See Field Controllers for setup.

Matches

  • Adds a Field Control page under Competition for queueing, running, and scoring alliance matches from one screen.
  • A match that is queued but not started no longer blocks queueing on other fields, and queueing another match on its field replaces it; two alliance matches still cannot run at once.

Event Setup

  • Event data can now be pulled directly from RECFEvents on the General Setup page.

Results

  • Events linked to RECF Events now publish their match results, rankings, and skills scores automatically while the host computer is signed in; the launcher shows whether results are up to date.

Backups

  • The event database is now regularly backed up to c2.recf.org, where RECF staff can access it.

Solo Matches

  • In Achieve, Engage, Inspire, and Aerial Drone Competition Pro, each team now has a pool of 5 solo attempts to split across the two solo match types, replacing 3 per type, Aerial Drone Competition keeps 3 attempts per type.
  • The solo match page shows how many of the 5 attempts a team has used.

Scoring

  • In Achieve and Inspire, scored halfpins on neutral goals are now worth 7 points instead of 5 in both alliance and solo matches, per game manual 2.0.

Rankings

  • Aerial Drone Competition and Engage rankings now drop only each team's single lowest score, however many matches it played or how the score was earned, per Aerial Drone Competition 1.1 and Engage 2.0.
  • Fixes extra (non-ranking) qualification matches counting toward a team's rank, average score, rank points, or W-L-T record in some cases.

Match Timer

  • Engage matches now play a single mid-match chime at 30 seconds remaining, replacing the chimes at 35 and 25 seconds, per Engage 2.0.

Scheduling

  • Qualification schedules now avoid back-to-back matches for a team and try to leave at least two matches between its appearances.

Eliminations

  • A disqualified alliance in an elimination match now shows 0 once the score is committed, with the other alliance shown as the winner; if both are disqualified, both show 0 and the match reads as a tie.

Violations

  • Violation levels now read Red Card and Yellow Card in place of Major and Minor.

Printouts

  • Adds an Alliance Selection Signs printout under Teams on the Overview page.

Awards

  • Fixes the Guide to Judging link on the Excellence Eligibility page doing nothing in the desktop app.
  • Fixes the Notebook status on the Excellence Eligibility page overlapping the details button.

Displays

  • Fixes display devices briefly flashing the desktop interface when assigned to a display group.

Devices

  • On the Devices screen, a network name that does not fit beside its server address now appears as a tooltip instead of being cut off, and the address itself is always shown in full.

Other Fixes

  • Fixes a blank screen that sometimes appeared when launching an event.
  • Fixes the host computer signing you out when a network hiccup interrupts refreshing your session.
