The Rankings page shows the current standings for the event. Competition Control recalculates rankings every time a score is finalized or unfinalized and every time a violation is saved or deleted, so the page is always current. The same rankings drive the rankings display screens, the printed ranking reports, and alliance selection.

The page is listed under Competition in the sidebar, and every role can open it. It has an Alliance Rankings tab and a Solo Rankings tab. Events whose elimination format uses exhibition finals also get a Finals Rankings tab.

Only matches with a finalized score count. A match with a score entered but not yet saved with Save Score is ignored. Alliance rankings use qualification matches only; practice and elimination matches never affect them. See Field Control and Scoring.

Alliance Rankings

[Screenshot: Rankings page showing the Alliance Rankings tab]

The ranking method comes from the event configuration for your program, and the columns on the Alliance Rankings tab change to match. In every method, a team that received a Red Card or No Show violation in a match gets no credit for that match. See Violations.

Rank Point Rankings

Used by programs that award ranking points in each qualification match, such as the robotics programs.

Column

What it shows

Team

The team number, with a Low participation chip for league teams below the participation requirement.

W-L-T

Wins, losses, and ties from the team's finalized qualification matches, based on the actual score.

RP

Average ranking points per match: 2 for a win, 1 for a tie, and 0 for a loss, plus the autonomous and endgame ranking points where the game awards them.

AP

Average autonomous ranking points per match.

EP

Average endgame ranking points per match.

Teams are ordered by RP, then AP, then EP. Remaining ties are decided at random.

A team with a Red Card or No Show earns no ranking points for that match and it is recorded as a loss. A Red Card also gives the opposing alliance a win for ranking points, even if they scored fewer points. W-L-T always reflects the actual score, so a team can show a loss in its record while its RP counts the match as a win.

Average Score Rankings

Used by programs that rank teams on the points they score, such as Aerial Drone Competition (ADC) teamwork matches.

Column

What it shows

Team

The team number, with the Low participation chip where it applies.

Average Score

The team's average alliance score across its counted matches, to one decimal place.

Matches Scored

The number of finalized qualification matches the team played, including any that were dropped.

Dropped

The names of the matches removed from the average.

Each team's single lowest score is dropped from the average, no matter how many matches it has played. A match with a Red Card or No Show counts as zero, so it is usually the one dropped. A team with only one scored match keeps it.

Teams are ordered by Average Score, then by their second highest score, then their third highest score. Remaining ties are decided at random.

Aerial Drone Competition Pro Rankings

Used by PRO events.

Column

What it shows

Team

The team number, with the Low participation chip where it applies.

W-L-T

Wins, losses, and ties based on the actual score.

RP

Average win points per match: 2 for a win, 1 for a tie, and 0 for a loss.

AVG

Average match score, to two decimal places.

Matches Scored

The number of finalized qualification matches counted for the team.

Teams are ordered by RP, then AVG, then their highest match score, then their second highest. Remaining ties are decided at random. Surrogate matches, marked with * on the Matches page, are left out of a team's PRO ranking entirely.

Participation in Leagues

In a league with more than one session, a team must take part in at least 60 percent of the sessions that have qualification matches. Teams below that mark are ranked after every team that meets it, regardless of their scores, and show a Low participation chip. Hover over the chip to see the detail, for example Took part in 2 of 4 sessions, below the 60% required. Single-session events are not affected. See Leagues.

Solo Rankings

The Solo Rankings tab ranks teams on their best solo match attempts.

Column

What it shows

Team

The team number.

Score

The team's highest driver-controlled score plus its highest autonomous score.

Highest [Driving or Piloting] Score

The best driver-controlled score, followed by attempts used out of the maximum, and the time of the most recent attempt. In programs with a shared pool of 5 solo attempts, only the attempts used for this type are shown.

Highest [Coding or Autonomous Flight] Score

The best autonomous score, with the same attempt count and time.

The column names use the solo match type names for the event's program. See Solo Matches.

Teams are ordered by Score. For ACH, ENG, INS, and ADC, ties are broken in this order:

  1. Highest autonomous score.
  2. Second highest autonomous score.
  3. Second highest driver-controlled score.
  4. Highest stop time recorded on the team's best driver-controlled run.
  5. Third highest autonomous score.
  6. Third highest driver-controlled score.

For PRO, ties are broken by the highest autonomous score, the highest piloting score, and the stop time of that piloting run, then by the second highest of each of those, then the third highest.

An attempt with a Red Card or No Show violation is left out of the team's scores, although it still counts toward the attempt limit. A deleted attempt is left out entirely.

Finals Rankings

When the elimination format uses exhibition finals, a Finals Rankings tab appears. It lists each Series, Team, and Score from the finals matches, ordered by score. If the tab is missing, your program does not use exhibition finals.

Where Else Rankings Appear

  • The Alliance Rankings and Solo Rankings display screens show the same order as this page, but list only teams that have checked in. See Display Screens.
  • The Qualification Rankings and Solo Rankings printouts, and their by grade versions, print the same numbers. See Reports and Printouts.
  • The Alliance Selection page seats captains in alliance ranking order. Finalize every qualification match before selection starts. See Alliance Selection.
  • Ranking based award eligibility reads from these standings. See Finalize and Awards.

Remarks

Keep the Rankings page open on a device near the head referee. Because it updates in real time, it is the quickest way to confirm a score change had the intended effect. Before alliance selection, compare Matches Scored across teams; a team with fewer matches than the rest usually has a match that was never finalized. If a team is missing or shows zero, none of its qualification matches have a finalized score. Random tiebreaks are settled when the rankings are calculated, so refreshing the page does not reshuffle tied teams unless a score or violation changes.
