Solo Matches
A solo match is a timed run by a single team on its own field. Teams attempt each solo match type a limited number of times, and their best results feed the solo rankings. The Solo Matches page is where a scorekeeper picks a field, picks a team, queues an attempt, runs the field timer, and scores the run.
The page is listed under Competition in the sidebar. The Solo-Only Scorekeeper, Scorekeeper, Head Referee, and Admin roles can use it. Solo field volunteers only need Solo-Only Scorekeeper, which gives them this page and the scoring dialog for solo matches without access to alliance matches. See Roles and Permissions.
Each program has two solo match types, and the names change with the program.
Program | Autonomous type | Driver-controlled type |
|---|---|---|
Aerial Drone Competition (ADC) and PRO | Autonomous Flight | Piloting |
ACH, ENG, and INS | Coding | Driving |
Solo matches run independently of alliance matches. Only one alliance match can run at a time across the event, but a solo field can run while an alliance match is in progress.
Running a Solo Match

- Open Solo Matches under Competition.
- In the Field Control card, choose a field from Select Field. If only one solo field exists, it is selected for you. Fields set up as alliance fields are greyed out unless All Fields is turned on, which only roles that can control alliance fields may do. The chosen field is part of the page address, so a bookmarked link opens the same field.
- In Select Team, type a team number or name and choose the team. Each suggestion shows the team's ready status chip. The list shows only teams with Inspection Passed unless you turn on Show all teams.
- Click the queue button for the match type you want, for example Queue Driving Match (0/3). The numbers show attempts used and the maximum allowed; in programs with a shared attempt pool the button shows only the attempts used for that type, such as Queue Driving Match (2). This creates the match, places it on the field, and switches the field's displays to the match introduction.
- Click Start in the Field Control card to begin the field timer. The current period, Autonomous or Driver Control, appears next to the match name.
- When the run finishes, click Score to open the scoring dialog. Enter the score and click Save Score to finalize it. The dialog works the same way as for alliance matches; see Field Control and Scoring.
- Click Reset to clear the finished match from the field so the next attempt can be queued.

The other timer controls work as they do for alliance matches. Resume replaces Start when the timer is paused between periods, End finishes the current period early, Cancel removes a queued match before it starts, and Abort Match stops a match that has already started so it can be run again. The speaker icon turns timer sounds on or off for this device.
If a team you expect is missing from Select Team, it has not reached Inspection Passed. Queuing a match for such a team with Show all teams turned on shows a Team May Not Be Ready warning with a Go To Inspection link. See Team Check In and Inspection.

Attempts

Every match created for a team counts as one attempt for that match type, whether or not it has been scored.
- Aerial Drone Competition: each team gets 3 attempts of each solo match type.
- Achieve, Engage, Inspire, and Aerial Drone Competition Pro (game manual 2.0 and later): each team gets a pool of 5 solo attempts to split across the two match types however it likes, such as 3 and 2, or 5 and 0. Below the queue buttons, the page shows how many of the 5 the team has used, for example 2 of 5 attempts used. Sessions already played under an earlier manual keep 3 attempts of each solo match type; a session that has not been played yet follows the current manual, so a league picks up a new manual from its next session.
When a team reaches the limit, the queue button is disabled with the message This team has reached the maximum attempts. The button is also disabled while a match is active on the field (A match is currently active on this field.) and until a team is chosen (Select a team to queue a match.).
After you choose a team, a table lists every solo match for that team with its Match name, Score, Type, Created time, and Field. Click the edit button on a row to reopen that match in the scoring dialog, for example to correct a score.
Deleting a Mistaken Attempt
If a match was queued by mistake, open it in the scoring dialog and click Delete match, then confirm Are you sure you want to delete this match? A deleted match no longer counts toward the team's attempts or rankings. A match cannot be deleted while its field timer is running; Cancel or Abort Match it first.
Deleted matches are hidden from the team's history and from Recent Matches. Devices with the Head Referee or Admin role can still see them in All Solo Matches, marked deleted. Opening one shows a Match deleted banner naming the device that deleted it, with a Restore match button that brings the attempt back.
Recent Matches
The Recent Matches card on the right shows the ten most recently updated solo matches. Each entry shows the team, the score once one exists, the match type, how long ago it was updated, and a chip reading in progress or saved. When a field is selected, the card shows only that field's matches and the heading reads Recent Matches (field name). Click View all to open All Solo Matches, the full list for the event or for the selected field. Click any entry to open it in the scoring dialog. Use this card to spot a match that was queued but never scored.
How Solo Scores Reach the Rankings
Each finalized solo score updates the Solo Rankings tab, where only a team's highest score of each type counts. An attempt with a Red Card or No Show violation is left out of the team's scores but still counts toward the attempt limit. See Rankings and Violations.
Keyboard Shortcuts
Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| Focus Select Team |
After you choose a team, focus moves to the first queue button that still has attempts left, so pressing Enter queues the match. Inside the scoring dialog, the shortcuts from Field Control and Scoring apply.

Remarks
If the page shows No fields are configured for this event., add fields in event setup; see Fields. If it shows No solo match types are configured for this event., the event configuration has no solo match types. If you see Could not create solo match, the device has lost its connection to the host computer, or another device queued a match on the same field at the same moment; check the field and try again. Leave Show all teams off during the day to keep the picker short and avoid attempts by teams that have not passed inspection.
